Ito Gafu is a promising young Japanese pottery tea pot artisan.
Mr. Gafu Ito was born in 1988 in Tokoname. He started studying make pottery when he was a high school student.
He mainly focus to make tea pot which was made of natural clay. It’s not for artificial addition of iron oxide, He make shuei clay himself and it takes so long time many months. Because he crushed clay and elutriate over and over again by handwork. Finally his clay became fine-grained pottery and be both practical and beautiful. Also he is not the son of a tea pot Kyusu craftsman, he was apprenticed to Takao Muragoshi of Fugetsu kiln who is one of the most famous Japanese tea pot craftsman.
Now Ito Gafu tea goods have been using by tea lovers in the world.
This tea pot is without handles such as "Shiboridashi" teapot. Shiboridashi are mostly used in making tea that utilizes warm water such as Gyokuro tea. Hot water isn't needed so the teapot has no handle.
Note:
We recommend wash it with water by hand wash and please don’t use any chemical detergent or automatic dish washer.
Don’t use direct fire.
